The role of Ad Ops Specialist is a newly established position due to the growth of the team. The Ad Ops Specialist will work with one of the main Fortis Media’s clients – Churchill Downs Incorporated. It is the parent company of Churchill Downs. The company has evolved from one racetrack in Louisville, Kentucky, to a multi US-state, publicly traded company with racetracks, casinos and the United States’ leading online wagering company among its portfolio of businesses. The company currently has more than 4,500 employees.

About the role:

The Ad Ops Specialist will be the execution lead for digital campaign trafficking and tagging, including Display, Search, Mobile and Social campaigns.  This individual will be responsible for understanding the technical details of Digital Campaign Management, Display Trafficking, URL Parameters, tag infrastructure and implementation, as well as the ability to understand technical aspects of new and emerging platforms.

Your team: you will work in a team of 9 professionals (on-page SEO Specialists, off-page SEO Specialists, Content Manager, Project Manager). The internal marketing team of Churchill Downs will also be your colleagues.

The main tasks of an Ad Ops Specialist will include:

  • Work with Campaign Managers and User Acquisition stakeholders to implement (campaign trafficking, tagging set up, naming convention) and oversee ad campaigns go-live process.
  • Monitor active campaigns, communicate with internal stakeholders, creative agencies and 3rd party vendors as needed.
  • Optimize campaigns, including reviewing reports and providing suggestions for improved performance.
  • Assist the Acquisition and Strategy teams with the development of cross-channel tagging strategies and digital campaign management.
  • Assist in maintaining relationships with digital ad vendors and partners.
  • Some weekend coverage required to cover peak event activity.

  • 2 year work experience with digital advertising, reporting and/or trafficking.
  • Strong analytical, operations, and process implementation skills; detail oriented.
  • Experience working with third party tracking technologies (both cookie based and site side).
  • Able to work as directed, lead processes, balance multiple tasks, and work in a team.
  • Experience or direct knowledge of online planning process.
  • Experience with Ad Servers: DoubleClick/Google Campaign Manager, AppNexus.
  • Experience with affiliate tracking platforms such as Income Access.
  • Experience with mobile measurement partners such as Kochava and AppsFlyer.
  • High competency level in MS Office products including Excel and Power Point.
  • WebAnalytics Experience: Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Demand Side Platforms.
  • Great EN skills.
  • Bonus: Web development experience with Javascript and/or HTML.
