Can recruitment agency guarantee successful recruitment?

Every company looking for a recruitment agency expects the best result when selecting a candidate. Of course, the greatest concentration when it comes to the success of a recruitment project is the fact that the right candidate has been recruited. Unfortunately, a recruitment agency provides a type of service where there are unknowns (the final number of candidates, the motivation of the candidates to participate in the selection process, the attractiveness of the employer on the labour market, etc.), which makes it difficult to guarantee the success of the service, but is it possible to do it?

What is success in a recruitment project?

Usually, employers define success in a recruitment project as the number of candidates selected and recruited, but the recruitment agency itself also measures success in terms of other parameters: the number of candidates selected, the duration of the recruitment project, the quality of the candidates selected, etc. Of course, recruiting the right candidate is the culmination of the success of the other stages of the recruitment process, but it is not the only parameter that measures the success of a recruitment agency. After all, selecting a candidate after six months of active recruitment cannot be considered as a good recruitment agency. That is why more parameters than just the candidate selected are used to describe a successful selection.

Can a recruitment agency guarantee a successful selection?

As the decision to accept a suitable candidate is taken directly by the employer, the recruitment agency cannot technically guarantee the employer’s future actions. Of course, experienced recruiters can give a reasonably accurate indication of the likelihood of selecting and hiring a candidate, or even of the potential number of potential candidates, after a proper assessment of the employer’s needs, but it is not possible to give a 100% guarantee that a selected candidate will be hired.

What can a recruitment agency then guarantee to a client?

Although a recruitment agency cannot guarantee 100% placement of a candidate at the end of a recruitment project, it can provide other guarantees:

Guarantee that during the recruitment process all candidates in the intended search area will be screened (the entire long list will be screened). This guarantee gives the employer a sense of security that, after the recruitment project, there is no suitable candidate on the labour market who has not been introduced to the position offered by the employer.
Guarantee that the recruitment agency will complete the project within a certain timeframe (the recruitment part of the project usually takes up to 30 – ies working days).
Ensure that in the case of a successful candidate, a guarantee will be given and that if the candidate is not successful, he/she will be replaced by a suitable candidate free of charge.
