Sr. PHP Software Engineer (Laravel)

As a Senior PHP Laravel Software Engineer, you will own and evolve core architecture of our security-focused, multi-tenant micro SaaS product. You’ll design scalable backend systems in Laravel, contribute to a modern Vue frontend, and build secure APIs, advanced permission models, and audit-ready infrastructure. Beyond writing code, you’ll drive technical decisions, raise engineering standards, and shape a platform used by security and compliance leaders.

Our recruitment process:

Recruitment process will consist of two interviews, one with CTO and Chief Product Owner, another one, short one, with Engineering manager in final hiring stages. Discussions will be held with PO‘s, small test task might be provided to understand the thought process, task will be not useful for Copla‘s product or deliveries.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain scalable web applications using Laravel.
• Build modern, responsive frontends using Vue.js.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs.
• Work with relational databases (PostgreSQL).
• Collaborate with product, design, and DevOps teams.
• Write clean, maintainable, well-documented code.
• Participate in code reviews and technical discussions.
• Optimize performance, security, and scalability.
• Contribute to architecture decisions and best practices.
• Design and develop scalable backend systems using Laravel.
• Build modern, reactive frontends using Vue.js (Vue 3 + Composition API).
• Architect and maintain RESTful APIs.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of professional experience in PHP development.
• Strong experience with Laravel.
• Solid experience with Vue.js (Vue 2 or 3). If you’re experienced with React.js or Angular and willing to switch to Vue.js – it’s fine as well.
• Good understanding of REST APIs and web architecture.
• Experience with PostgreSQL.
• Git proficiency.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Good written and spoken English.
• Experience with Docker.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines.

Nice to have:

• Familiarity with AWS / cloud infrastructure.
• Knowledge of testing (PHPUnit, Pest, Cypress, etc.).
• Experience with TailwindCSS or modern frontend tooling (Vite, Webpack).

  – Close collaboration with CISOs and security leaders — gaining rare domain expertise at the intersection of engineering and governance.
  – A platform where technical decisions directly impact how companies manage risk and compliance.
