Project Engineer

Job Description:

The Project Engineer is responsible for identifying and delivering industrial packaging and processing solutions that meet customer needs. The role provides technical expertise throughout project lifecycle, working closely with internal sales team in Lithuania, international MULTIVAC Group units, and external suppliers to develop life effective and commercially viable solutions in wide scope of complexity and automation. The position also supports project coordination and customer-facing technical activities together with experienced team of sales engineers.

What this role IS

• This is a role of technical implementation and solution development where calculations, technical design and pricing estimates are made in a pre-sales phase.
• Tis is a hands-on role responsible for project coordination after the delivery contract is signed.

What this role IS NOT

• An active sales role where the initial contact with the client party is made.

Key Responsibilities

Pre-sales delivery:

• Develop preliminary system concepts, technical proposals, and project cost estimates.
• Prepare and present technical specifications, quotations, and business cases to support customer decision-making.
• Collaborate with sales, engineering, and project teams to develop technically and commercially viable solutions.
• Conduct customer presentations, technical discussions, and solution demonstrations to communicate value and address technical requirements.
• Support the sales process from initial opportunity assessment through proposal development, negotiation, and handover to project execution.
• Identify technical risks, constraints, and opportunities to optimize solution design, cost, and performance.

Project Coordination:

• Coordinate with technical specialists, project teams, the MULTIVAC Group, and third-party suppliers to develop customer solutions.
• Own and manage projects from order to handover via MULTIVAC CRM system
• Review machine and production-line specifications
• Configure machines and production-line solutions
• Coordinate partners, both internally and externally
• Order, follow up on, and plan equipment
• Documentation, quality assurance, and technical control
• Conduct factory acceptance tests
• Actively participate in sales and project meetings

Internal Collaboration:

• Work closely with sales, engineering, project management, and administrative teams to ensure successful customer outcomes.
• Share market intelligence and customer feedback with relevant departments.
• Contribute to sales planning, forecasting, and reporting activities.

Requirements

Qualifications and Experience:

• 3+ years of experience in project engineer roles within industrial, manufacturing, packaging, automation, or technical environments.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Food Technology, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Understanding of machinery/production equipment
• Experience with AutoCAD, DraftSight, 2D/3D tools, or equivalent
• Good general understanding of technology and a curious mindset
• A structured approach to work and the ability to handle several projects simultaneously
• Understanding of food packaging, processing, automation, or industrial equipment solutions is considered an advantage.
